Optometrist — Your Clinical Eye Has Real Value

Refracting, examining, fitting lenses — your hands-on clinical work protects vision. That expertise has real value.

The Observer Programme pays experienced optometrists and dispensing opticians to record their working day using lightweight smart glasses.

How it works

• Wear smart glasses during your clinic sessions
• Record sessions from 30 minutes up
• Spend a few minutes after each session confirming what you did
• Get paid per recorded minute
• All recordings are anonymised — no patient faces, no voices, no identifying details

What you'll earn

€28–€42 per recorded hour

€112–€168 per recording day (based on ~4 hours)

€2,000–€2,800 per month (based on 20 recording days)

First Observers earn a launch bonus.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of clinical experience
• Currently practising — employed or self-employed
• Hands-on clinical work: refraction, examination, dispensing, contact lens fitting
• Smartphone (iOS or Android)

All specialisms welcome: community optometrist, hospital optometrist, contact lens specialist, low vision specialist.

We provide everything

• Smart glasses — shipped to you, pre-configured
• Full onboarding (~30 minutes)
