Working on live rail, maintaining points, renewing track — that's specialist skill in a high-consequence environment. Now you can get paid for it.
The Observer Programme pays experienced rail track workers to record their working day using lightweight smart glasses.
How it works
- Wear smart glasses during your shift
- Record sessions from 30 minutes up
- Spend a few minutes after each session confirming what tasks you did
- Get paid per recorded minute
- All recordings are anonymised — no faces, no voices, no identifying details
What you'll earn
Railway track work is specialist and earns higher rates.
€28–€42 per recorded hour
€112–€168 per recording day (based on ~4 hours)
€2,000–€2,800 per month (based on 20 recording days)
First Observers earn a launch bonus. Extra earnings possible through referral bonuses.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of railway track work experience
- Currently working — employed or contract
- Hands-on track work: maintenance, renewal, points, crossings, signalling installation
- Valid PTS or equivalent rail safety certification
- Smartphone (iOS or Android)
All specialisms welcome: track maintenance operative, track renewal gang, points and crossing maintainer, overhead line electrification worker, railway signalling installer.
