Working at depth, welding underwater, inspecting infrastructure in zero visibility — your expertise in one of the most dangerous professions on earth is exceptionally valuable.
The Observer Programme pays commercial divers and underwater welders to record their working day using lightweight smart glasses. Commercial diving is one of the highest-earning specialisms on the programme.
How it works
- Wear smart glasses during surface prep, deck work, and post-dive tasks
- Record sessions from 30 minutes up
- Get paid per recorded minute
- All recordings are anonymised
What you'll earn
€110–€180 per recorded hour
€4,000–€6,000 per month (based on 20 recording days)
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of commercial diving experience
- Currently working
- Smartphone (iOS or Android)
All specialisms welcome: offshore saturation diver, inland/civil engineering diver, nuclear diving inspector, underwater welding/cutting operative, ROV pilot-technician.
